Quarantine - Day 22

Today was a day I set aside to try to organize the office where things have been piling up over the course of the last couple weeks. I began organizing tools and shredding paper before more computer issues set me back to troubleshooting once again. Abbie resumed remote learning with St. Olaf, but
still managed to output a video for our online content. I contacted the bank to see about submitting my application for the SBA payroll protection loan only to find that they had temporarily closed the portal due to overwhelming demand. They anticipated reopening at 6PM. At 6PM they anticipated opening at 7PM, which they finally did, and I scrambled as fast as I could to submit my application and backup documentation before they closed it again.

We received a survey apparently sent to arts organizations and other service providers from the city that seemed to be inquiring about what kind of activities we may have to offer online and possibly during the summer. We responded along the lines that in the event our business has not closed, we are open for business…and ideas. Is it possible that we will still be knocking into the walls around here once summer begins? Is it possible to even know what next week will bring? It’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Ella has been the most cheerful of us all for the last 22 days, but this evening there were once again some tears. She misses going places and doing things with her friends. She misses school and going on long bike rides and the life she was used to. Laura and I privately wonder if life will ever resume its old shape after we get an all clear. It is quite possible that it won’t in many ways.
