Day 7 - Monday, July 15th

In the morning we checked out of our charming cottage and left the rolling hills and glades of Freshford for a final time as we headed back east to begin our London stay.  After a nearly two and a half hour trip, our train swept into Paddington Station where we transferred to the Underground with plans to stow our luggage at a FedEx, grab a bite, and see the British Museum.  Where four years ago, Laura and Abi had simply strolled in, a line now stretched around the block.  We abandoned the idea and turned our attention to finding a place to eat.  Most of the small lunch spots were overcrowded so we slid into the somewhat pretentious Bloomsbury Kitchen and sampled their fusion Mediterranean and Japanese fare puzzling our palates with several small dishes before once again retrieving our luggage for our last leg north to where our West Hampstead condo awaited us.  After arriving, Abi and I made a quick trip to a nearby Sainsbury’s for groceries, and we had a nice meal of chicken parmesan prepared by Abi as we settled into our new digs.
