Day 1 - Tuesday, July 9

7/09/24 1:00PM CST Depart home for Jefferson Park CTA - We got a text from Air Canada saying the flight was delayed two hours, so we circled the block and hung out around the table silently staring at nothing.

7/09/24 1:30PM - We decide to head to the airport anyway and stare at nothing while at the gate.

7/09/24 3:00PM - We arrive at check-in and the agent said our flight isn’t delayed and will be boarding soon.  He suggests we get through security ASAP.

7/09/24 6:00PM EDT Flight AC 508 departs for Toronto

7/09/24 8:00 PM EDT Delightful dinner at the Swiss Chalet with the illustrator for Laura’s new book, Janine Carrington, her son Luis-Mario, and her boyfriend Fernando.

7/09/24 11:40 PM - Flight AC 858 Departs YYZ for LHR (6:50) - We got to board our 777 early but an older lady was seated in our aisle already pretending to be asleep which caused a brief pile-up as we all tried to work around her and stow luggage.  Bumpy and uncomfortable overnight flight follows with little to no sleep.
